The Don Bosco Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, established in 2008 in Mumbai by the Bombay Salesian Society and later renamed Don Bosco College, has expanded its academic offerings over the years. Initially affiliated with the University of Mumbai for a degree in Hospitality Studies, the college broadened its curriculum to include degrees in Mass Media and Management Studies by 2011. Located in the Don Bosco Centre for Learning campus, the college has doubled its intake capacity and provides a comprehensive educational experience through rigorous classroom teaching, digital platforms like Moodle, and additional subject-related and life skill courses. The college emphasizes holistic education in the Salesian tradition, focusing on discovering personal talents, career guidance, and character building, supported by various committees, a vibrant NSS unit, and a dedicated placement cell. Bachelor of Management Studies
An undergraduate Degree programme in Management studies was one of the first Self-financing Courses introduced by the University of Mumbai by the turn of 21st century. The BMS Degree Programme was well received by the industry due to its practical application. B.M.S. Course spread over a period of 3 years was introduced in Don Bosco College in 2012-13 and has very soon gained popularity with the demand ratio exceeding 10 times. The BMS curriculum has been specially designed keeping in mind the requirements of industry and in order to equip students with the skills of business leadership, from II Year, the student can select any one specialisation field out of three subject’s specialisation viz., Marketing, Finance & HR offered by the college.
