PRACTICAL TRAINING OF ITR FILING
Bosco Finance Club, in collaboration with the BAF department, organized a hands-on workshop on Income Tax Return (ITR) filing on 18th July 2024 at Mondini Hall, led by Prof. Rahul Jaiswal. The session began with an introduction to taxation and covered key concepts like Income Tax and GST. A major highlight was the live demonstration of the Income Tax Department’s official website, guiding participants through the ITR filing process. Emphasizing accuracy and compliance, the workshop also addressed real-life tax scenarios. It concluded with a recap and Q&A, leaving attendees confident and well-equipped to file their ITRs independently.

The Art of Body Language
The BAF Department of Don Bosco College, Kurla, organized a seminar titled "The Art of Body Language" on 16th August 2024 for TYBAF students. Held in the Seminar Hall, the session was led by Prof. Elenka Rebello from the Hospitality Studies Department, who shared her expertise in non-verbal communication. Key topics included gestures, facial expressions, and the impact of body posture. The session emphasized the importance of body language in professional settings. Prof. Rebello was felicitated by Fr. Brian Moras. The event, coordinated by Dr. Preeta Rejoy and led by Hajra Khan and Sujal Wagh, was insightful and impactful.

On 6th January 2025, the BAF Department organized a Practical Training Workshop on “Data Visualization and Data Analysis” for First-Year students, aligned with NEP 2020 guidelines. Conducted by Mr. Ankit Mishra, the session focused on Excel-based graphing techniques and data analysis tools. Students gained hands-on experience in creating Pie, Bar, Column, Line, Scatter, Histogram, and Area charts. Key Excel functions like VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and AVERAGEIF were also covered. Held in the IT Lab, the workshop was interactive and enriching, enhancing students’ analytical and presentation skills. We thank Mr. Mishra for his insightful and engaging training session.

On January 20, 2025, the BAF Department organized a session on “Holistic Health and Well-being” at 11:00 AM in the BAMMC Theater. It began with a soulful musical performance by DBCL students, followed by an engaging presentation on diet and exercise. Fr. Brian emphasized the value of home-cooked meals, self-acceptance, and emotional health. He debunked fitness myths and highlighted the importance of balanced workouts and consistent habits. Thought-provoking discussions encouraged students to embrace a positive mindset. The session concluded with heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Brian for inspiring participants to pursue holistic wellness with patience, discipline, and self-love.

A seminar on financial markets was conducted at Don Bosco College, Kurla, in the D-wing Seminar Hall at 12:00 noon. Organized by students, the event featured Dr. Laxmi Desiti from Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College. With over 14 years of teaching experience and multiple research contributions, Dr. Desiti highlighted the importance of financial literacy, explaining the structure and functions of various markets. She focused on derivatives, digital platforms like Zerodha and Groww, and the role of indices such as NIFTY and SENSEX. The session ended with an interactive Q&A. Yukti Patil delivered the vote of thanks. The seminar was highly informative and inspiring.

The two-day leadership camp was an enriching experience that fostered personal growth, teamwork, and empathy. Day 1 began with an inspiring orientation by Father Brian, Father Kiran, Father Anthony, and Royal Sir, followed by interactive indoor and outdoor activities that promoted collaboration and problem-solving. Cultural events and a reflection session capped off the day. Day 2 featured a trekking activity and challenging team games like the Australian Walk and Pipe & Marbles, enhancing resilience and coordination. The camp concluded with a mass and a visit to Shraddha NGO, instilling empathy and social responsibility—key qualities for true leadership.
