Our journey began at Gulshan Mahal, a 19th-century heritage bungalow that now serves as a vital section of the National Museum of Indian Cinema (NMIC) in Mumbai. The regal architecture, adorned with intricate carvings and timeless motifs, immediately transported us into a world where history and art merged seamlessly. This building houses six exhibition halls that chronicle the origins and early days of Indian cinema, covering silent films, the advent of sound, and India’s cinematic milestones through the decades.
Each floor of the museum unveiled a distinct layer of Indian cinema, offering a seamless blend of history, technology, and creativity. The journey from Gulshan Mahal’s historic grandeur to the new building’s state-of-the-art exhibits was a profound experience, deepening our appreciation for the art of filmmaking.
