The Freshers Get-Together 2026, organised by second-year BMS and BAF students, was held on 25th July 2026 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Mondini Hall, Don Bosco College. Around 200 first-year students participated, with faculty members Ms. Anoushka, Ms. Melita, and Ms. Shamim present. The programme aimed to help students build friendships and experience campus life. Interactive ice-breakers, an action song, and the “Find Your Outlaw” activity encouraged participation and interaction. The Bounty Card activity promoted teamwork, creativity, communication, and collaboration through engaging challenges. Spot prizes, “Sheriff Says,” and a cowboy-themed dialogue challenge added excitement. The event concluded with a lively jam session, bringing seniors and freshers together and fostering friendship, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging.

Anthony Pinto, who congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to uphold the values gained during their college years. The traditional lighting of the lamp and oath-taking added solemnity to the occasion. Student representatives and toppers shared reflections of gratitude and hope. The highlight was the distribution of certificates, followed by a vote of thanks and photographs. On 15th September 2025, five individuals—Ashley, Daniel, Evangeline, Stephen, and Zane—visited Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation School No. 24, Morwa Village, Bhayander West, through the Child Help Foundation. The visit aimed to understand child welfare initiatives and engage with underprivileged children. The two-day programme included interactive introductions, educational activities, and learning sessions that encouraged meaningful interaction and revealed the children’s aspirations and challenges. The second day featured games and recreational activities promoting teamwork, creativity, and joy. The experience provided valuable insights into the importance of educational, emotional, and social support for children. It also strengthened the visitors’ empathy, social responsibility, and commitment to service, highlighting the vital role of the Child Help Foundation in supporting underserved communities.

The six-day Lay Salesian Programme (LSP) 3.0, held from 10th July 2025 at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Koregaon Park, Pune, brought together lay collaborators and educators from various Don Bosco institutions. The programme fostered community, reflection, and professional and personal growth. Daily Eucharistic celebrations and Lectio Divina strengthened participants’ spiritual foundation. Sessions by Fr. Ian Doulton on adolescent psychology enhanced understanding of youth, while Fr. Valerian Pereira explored Don Bosco’s life and mission. Reflections on Mamma Margaret highlighted faith and resilience. Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas explored Don Bosco’s Nine-Year Dream and its relevance to Salesian education. Interactive sessions, films, and discussions enriched the experience, reaffirming the Lay Salesian vocation of accompanying young people and continuing Don Bosco’s mission.

A special Holy Mass was celebrated on 16th June 2025 at the DBCL Chapel for the first-year students of BMS and BAF, marking the beginning of the new academic year. Around 120 students and BMS faculty members participated in the celebration. The Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Mylin Noronha, Assistant Director, DBC and Administrator, DBCL, along with Fr. Anthony Pinto, Rector and Director, DBCL. The celebration provided an opportunity for students and faculty to seek God’s guidance and blessings. In his homily, Fr. Mylin emphasized the importance of faith and perseverance in pursuing knowledge and personal growth. Students led the Prayers of the Faithful, seeking wisdom, courage, and resilience. The Mass concluded with a blessing and renewed hope for the year ahead.

Dr. Mamatha D’souza, HOD, introduced the speaker, Mr. Conrad Saldanha, a management professional who emphasized the importance of continuous learning and upskilling. He discussed current market trends, the growing impact of AI, and the diverse career opportunities available across various fields. Students were encouraged to choose careers aligned with their personalities, strengths, and abilities. An interactive questionnaire helped students identify their strengths and make informed career decisions. Students actively participated in discussions and shared their responses. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Ashley and enthusiastic applause from the participants.

The celebration was attended by the college management, faculty, non-teaching staff, and students. The Eucharistic celebration included meaningful readings, hymns, and moments of reflection, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. In his homily, the celebrant encouraged everyone to begin the academic year with faith, gratitude, and trust in God. He highlighted compassion, discipline, and humility, virtues exemplified by Mary. Don Bosco College, Kurla organized a poster-making event during Anti-Ragging Week, led by the Bosco Literary and Cultural Club (BLCC). The event aimed to raise awareness on anti-ragging, gender sensitization, POSH, bullying prevention, and creating a safe campus. Participants were asked to create original posters reflecting their views on these issues. Judged by Prof. Melita Rego and Mr. Vishal Sawakare, seven students showcased creative, meaningful artwork. Each participant explained their poster and shared insights on ragging and campus safety. Ms. Pranjal (SYBAF) secured first place, followed by Ms. Valencia (SYBMS C), making the event both impactful and memorable.
